Yosemite National Park has so many activities to enjoy! There is something for everyone to do once you get here. Below I have the different activities. From hiking outdoors to horseback riding in Yosemite. It's all fun! Click on each of the links to learn more about each one.

Go On An Easy Hike!

You can hike to the bottom of a waterfall. You can hike to a vista that will give you the most amazing view. There are many places to hike to in Yosemite. Wide and well marked trails will take you to unforgetable places. Here are some easy day hikes that everyone will enjoy.

Go On a Moderate To Challenging Hike

Bike Around Yosemite Valley

Try a new adventure and go on bike rides in yosemite! Rent a bike here or bring your own. We always bring our own since we don't live to far from this fabulous place! If you need to you rent a bike, you may do so at Yosemite Lodge or Curry Village. There is more than eight miles of easy and fun paths in Yosemite Valley for bike rides!

Go Fishing

Fishing Yosemite and the surrounding lakes is a lot of fun. The lakes are regularly stocked with trout, german brown and small bass fish. There are about 770 miles of streams that have fish in them. The fishing is best in the high country verse fishing in valley of Yosemite National Park.

Float The Merced River

Grab a tube, raft or boat and float the Merced River in Yosemite Water! This is one of the best ways to relax and have fun at the same time! We do this every July 4th weekend! You may bring your own intertubes, rafts or boats to use or you may rent a boat at Curry Village.

Go Horseback Riding

Yosemite Park has three stables that offer horseback riding. You may ride to the top of a waterfall! Or ride to just below the cables of Half Dome. There are many scenic rides throughout Yosemite and the surrounding area to choose from. Yosemite has a horse stable down in the valley and up in Tuolumne Meadows and in Wawona.

Climb On Rocks And Fallen Trees

Go climb a rock! From a single rock to a granite bolder...there are many rocks to climb once you are here! Climb a rock just to say that you have conquered it or climb on a rock to sit and rest. It's a great way to spend the day!

Ride The Free Shuttle & Shop The Village Stores And Museum

Drive your car to Curry Village and park your car. Get on the free shuttle bus and ride it to the Village. At the village you can easily spend a couple of hours.

Here there is shopping at the Village Store, the Ansel Adams Gallery, the Visitors Center which has a marvelous museum to walk through, the Indian Village, the Post Office, a few restaruants and snack bars, ATM's, restrooms, bookstores, The Art Center and an impressive media room that shows movies of Yosemite and the surrounding area.

Walk Through The Meadows

Yosemite has several meadows to meanader through. Most meadows have a wooden path for you to walk through. These were put in place several years ago to preserve the meadows.












Drive To Glacier Point

You may drive your car to Yosemite Glacier Point. This is the place to come and oversee the valley of Yosemite National Park and the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains. When you stand up here you will see vast expanses of terrain that is so high, few trees grow. What you will see will take your breath away!

Drive To The Big Trees

Mariposa Grove is home to the California Yosemite Big Trees. This grove hosts some of the oldest and largest living things on earth. This grove has more than 600 Giant Sequoias!The earths largest and oldest Sequoias and Redwoods have been growing here for centuries.

Go Ice Skating In The Winter

The Yosemite Curry Village outdoor ice skating rink is open in the winter months. It is open from the middle of November till the middle of March. Weather dictates when the rink opens and closes. While you are having fun in the rink you will have a great view of Half Dome! The outdoor rink is located at the base of Glacier Point, so all you have to do is look up to see Glacier Point!

Ski At Badger Pass In The Winter

Badger Pass ski area is located in Yosemite National Park. It is a one hour drive from the valley floor. This ski area really caters to the young, beginner and intermediate skiiers. This year it is scheduled to open December 12, 2008. But it all depends on the snowfall! There are no snow making machines here. This is the oldest ski resort in California! The downhill skiing is excellent here!

Tuolumne Meadow's is Yosemite's High Country. Above the valley floor lies several mountain lakes stocked with fish, several campgrounds, granite domes and jagged peaks. The Sierra Nevada wildflowers season is from March to August. For six months the Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne Meadows and the Sierra Nevada mountains are blanketed with California wildflowers.
