Yosemite National Park Map And Directions To Yosemite National Park



Below are directions and a Yosemite National Park Map. Looking at a map of California, you will find Yosemite in the middle of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Looking at the Yosemite National Park map you will see that there are three ways to enter this national park.

~The South Entrance on Highway 41. Going this route you will pass through the cities of Oakhurst and Fish Camp. From the park gate to the valley is 45 minutes. The elevation on this route climbs 3,000 to 6,000 feet. You will pass by the Wawona Hotel and Pioneer Village. This route give you the beautiful tunnel view that is on all the postcards!

Fresno Is The Closest Airport To Yosemite's South Entrance

How To Fly To Yosemite Cheap

~The Highway 140 Arch Rock Entrance. From the city of Merced to Yosemite is about 80 miles. On this route you will go through the cities of Mariposa and El Portal. From the gate to the valley is about 20 minutes.

~Big Oak Flat Entrance on Highway 120. From the city of Modesto to Yosemite is 88 miles. You will pass through the cities of Groveland and Big Oak Flat. The elevation climbs from 3,000 to 6,000 feet. From the gate to the valley is 30 minutes.

San Francisco and Bay area will enter through the Big Oak Flat Entrance. Distance: 195 milesTime:4 Hrs.Get on Interstate 580 East and take it to Hwy 120 East all the way into Yosemite National Park. Follow this Yosemite National Park Map and you will be here in no time at all!

Los Angeles area will come in on the South Entrance on Highway 41.Distance: 313 milesTime: 6 Hrs.Get on Interstate 5 north and take it Highway 99 to Fresno. In Fresno, take Highway 41 North. This will take you all the way into Yosemite National Park. Once your in Fresno you only have 2 hours to go!

Las Vegas will come in through the Big Oak Flat Entrance on Highway 120. June - October (if road conditions allow) Distance: 350 milesTime: 7 Hrs.Look at the map and take I-15 west to Barstow. Then take Highway 58 west to the junction with US 395. Then go north on US 395 to near Lee Vining. Next, take Highway 120 west into Yosemite National Park (This road is open late May or early June. Depends on the weather.)

November through May you will come in through the South Entrance on Highway 41.Distance: 495 miles Time: 9 Hrs.Take Interstate 15 West to the city of Barstow. Then take Hwy 58 West to Bakersfield. Once in Bakersfield take Hwy 99 North to the city of Fresno. Once in Fresno, take Hwy 41 North into Yosemite National Park. Fresno to Yosemite is 2 hours.

Reno & Lake Tahoe will come in through the Big Oak Flat Entrance on Highway 120. June through October (weather permitting)Distance: 218 miles (From Reno)Time: 5 Hrs.Take US 395 south to Lee Vining. Then take Hwy 120 West into Yosemite National Park. (This road opens in late May or early June, depending on the weather).

November through May you will come in through the Big Oak Flat Entrance on Highway 120. Distance: 315 miles (From Reno)Time: 8 Hrs.Look at the map and take Interstate 80 or Interstate 50 West to the city of Sacramento. Then take Hwy 99 South to the city of Manteca. Then take Hwy 120 East all the way into Yosemite National Park.

Death Valley National Park will have you come in through the Big Oak Flat Entrance on Highway 120.June through October Distance: 270 milesTime: 5 Hrs.Get on Highway 190 west to US 395. Take US 395 North to Lee Vining. Then take Highway 120 East into Yosemite National Park (This road usually opens late in May or early in June, depending when the snow comes. Road closes around November).

November through May you will come in through the South Entrance on Highway 41. Distance: 450 miles Time: 9 Hrs.Look at the map and take Highway 190 West to US 395, Then t US 398 South to the Hwy 14 South. Go Hwy 14 South to the city of Mojave. From Mojave get on Hwy 58 to Bakersfield. Then Hwy 99 North to Fresno and in Fresno get on Hwy 41 North and it will take you all the way into Yosemite National Park. Looking at the Yosemite National Park map you will see that Fresno to Yosemite is a 2 hour drive.
