Golf Course
The golf course is located directly across from the hotel. This is the only golf course in a National Park! This 18 hole golf couse is open as long as it is not covered in snow! So, basically from April to November you can go 9 rounds or 18 rounds of golf! Electric golf cars, pull cars and clubs are all available. For more information call (209) 375-6572.
Pioneer Village
This is a history center. You can stop by and see what a pioneer town use to be like! They have relocated an old jail, a blacksmith, housing and other community buildings that are from the 1850's. You can walk through these furnished buildings and in the summer there are people dressed in costumes from this time period. These pioneers will talk to you as though you are living in their time period. They are great at answering your questions and you get a good sense of what it was like to live in the 1800's. You can take a horse drawn carriage ride around the grounds. Enter the village through the oldest covered bridge in California. Beneath the bridge runs the Merced River.
Chilnuala Falls
If you want to walk to the top of Chilnuala Falls you need to know that this is a tough hike! It is 4.1 miles straight up with a 2,400 foot elevation gain! Give yourself at least 5 hours to make the round trip. Climbing this waterfall is a series of switchbacks and you need to carry your own water. When you get to the top of this waterfall it is different than the other big falls like Yosemite Falls, Vernal Falls, Bridalveil Falls and Nevada Falls. Chilnuala Falls is a series of cascades not a tall sheer drop of water. You can walk to the bridge and see the last cascade of Chilnuala Falls. Walking to the bridge is a 4 minute walk from the Chilnualna Falls parking area...definately worth seeing! To get to the beginning of this trail from Highway 41 take the first road past Wawona Hotel Yosemite. This is Wawona Road. Drive to the end of the road (about a 5 minute drive) and there will be the Chilnualna Falls parking lot.
Mariposa Grove
Head to the Big Trees! Your about four miles from some of the largest trees in the world.

Here is an interesting fact: While driving to Yosemite Valley you will often see signs that say, "Watch for falling rocks". Rock slides don't happen often but when they do it is usually at night. At night ice forms around or under rocks and forces them out. Heavy rainfall or heavy spring run-offs can also cause rockslides.
