Theodore Roosevelt National Park

The Theodore Roosevelt National Park is one of the least visited National Parks in the United States. At first glance you may not be terribly impressed, but if you look deeper, you will find some amazing amazing things here.

Animals such as bison, beautiful wild horses, elk, deer, big horn sheep, praire dogs and snakes call this place home. The interesting rock formations are probably the first thing that you will notice when you are here. Sandstone formations were formed by volcanoe ash, sand, silt and mud. The harsh cold weather turned these sediments into sandstone.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park Impressions

Two million years ago, ice sheets cut through these rocks and carved a beautiful path for the river to flow. This is land that is rich in fossils and petrified wood. This is a place where dinosaurs once roamed and fosils are still being uncovered today.

This US National Park is located in the western part of North Dakota. Named after our 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt was born and raised in New York but escaped to this place to hunt bison.

Besides hunting large game animals, he made good money by raising and selling cattle that he kept on this land. His love for the outdoors made him a natural conservationalist. During his presidency he put into place the US Forest Service and established five National Parks.
