Snow expected...do I need cables on all four tires?

by Renee Mora
(Lakewood, CA)

I'm heading to Yosemite this Thursday and snowfalls are expected Tues - Thurs. I drive a 2005 Tahoe with rear wheel drive. I have a set of cables for the drive wheels but someone said I need them for all four. I live in Southern California and it is hard to find cables on short notice (they have to be special ordered). Is one set sufficient?

Hi Renee,

You will be fine. You do not have to buy more cables. They do an excellent job keeping the roads clear and we are at the end of our winter here. So any snow falling this week will not create road problems. And its to warm to turn to ice. Have a great trip! It's beautiful here now!
