Rock Climbing Tips

We have some rock climbing tips for you so that you reduce your chance of injury. Before you climb, you need to be physically in shape and have some rock climbing training. This is an extreme sport that requires you to be very physically fit. Endurance is a must.

Rock climbing is an outdoor activity that takes strength, endurance and dedication. It is a great way to stay in shape and physically fit. Rock climbing will challenge your thinking, your common sense as well as your physical body. You will be pushed beyond limits that you think you have.



Rock Climbing Tip #1...Warm Up Before Climbing

Just like any sport, a rock climber needs to warm their muscles up before they begin any climb. Climbing uses every muscle in the body. Strength training is a must for climbers.

Anyone who want to become a rock climber needs to take some classes. A class will teach you about the equipment that you will be using and how to get your body in top shape for climbing. You will need to train in a way that lesson the chances of falling, sprains and tears to your muscles. A well fit climber is limber and very physically strong. You must be able to pull your own weight and hold yourself up in some tough places.

Rock Climbing Tip #2...Do Aerobics

When training to climb a mountain, it is good to be able to do aerobics. You need to be able to raise your heartbeat, sweat and then be able to bring your pulse down. Aerobics are great training to be able to do this.

Rock Climbing Tip #3...Build Body Strength

There are many ways for you build up your body strength before you begin climbing. Eating properly and weight training are a must. You can work out in a gym or on your own if you are diligent. You need to build strength up in your arms, torso, shoulders and legs. Even you fingers, wrists, ankles and toes need to have muscle in them. Rock climbing uses every muscle in your body.



Hanging from a bar will strengthen your arms. Doing pull ups will bring on more strength. Exercises to build muscles and strength in your wrists is a must. Curls and bench presses are an excellent way to go about this.

Rock climbing will test your body to limits that you didn't even know about. Your body will be twisted, pulled and pushed in every way possible. This means that you need to become and expert at manipulating your body around rocks and through tight spaces. Stomach muscles and abs will need to be in top shape.



Rock Climbing Tip #4...Build Stomach And Back Muscles

You can develop strong stomach muscles and back muscles by doing situps and stomach crunches. Rock climbers are in the best shape of their lives when they are climbing.

Pull ups will not only give your arms muscle, but they will bring strength into the shoulder area. Pull ups are a good way to bring strength to the wrists as well. Learning to work with weights is another important way to strengthen your entire body.



Rock Climbing Tip #5...Endurance Training Is A Must

Your training will have you doing a circuit. You need to do weights, run and do aerobic exercises. Different days you will work different muscle groups. A well balanced fitness program will help you to get in the best shape for rock climbing. A well rounded fitness routine will help you to build endurance. Endurance is something every rock climber has to have.
