Rafting With A 4 Year Old

Hi. We are vacationing in Yosemite this year and would very much like to float the river. Our daughter is 32 lbs. My question to you is if I bring my own raft what type of raft would you recommend getting for a family of 6? Also is there a spot to air the raft up and is there a shuttle to take our own raft?
Thank you!!
Michelle
See Kathy's Reply:Yes, It is safe to take your 4 year old rafting in Yosemite National Park. For the six of you rafting; I would get two or three rafts. We use two man rafts that we got at our local Walmart. Most sporting good stores have 2, 3 and 4 man rafts. So you can get 3 two man rafts or two three man rafts to accompany your family of 6.
Just make sure that you have a life jacket on anyone who is 10 and under. We prefer the boats with sides over the flat air mattresses.
Anyone who is old enough to row should have an ore to help paddle the raft to the middle of the river. You may blow your rafts up at the Curry Village boat rental. Just bring your own air compressor, they have outlets. We've even blow them up using our air compressor at our car.
You must have air compressor. There is a free shuttle at the point where you have to get off of the river. The shuttle will take you back to Curry Village. You must let the air out of your rafts and they will let you carry them on the shuttle.
So much fun! This is a
bsolultely one of our favorite activities to do while in Yosemite during the summer! Have a great time!
