Kobuk Valley National Park

Kobuk Valley National Park in Alaska is very well known for the 500,000 caribou that migrate through here. The caribou are in Brooks Range area in the winter and and then they migrate to the Yukon River in the summer. The herds are huge and they are loud if you get to see them in person.

The Kobuk Sand Dunes are a unique site. They are 150 - 250 feet tall and the winds here keep the sand moving.

This is a very isolated Alaska National Park. It is 40 miles above the Artic Circle. There are no roads here. To get here, you must be brought in by a dogsled team, a bush plane or a snowmobile.

This is a great place if you like solitude and amazing scenery. You have 1.7 million acres to observe wildlife, cross country ski, hike, canoe, fish, camp and perfect your photography skills. As with the rest of Alaska, your odds are very good at seeing a grizzly bear!
