Going To The Chapel In Yosemite

Going to the chapel in Yosemite! The little chapel is open year around. This chapel is booked well in advance for weddings. Yosemite National Park is a popular destination for weddings and honeymoons. This little chapel is often referred to as the chapel of love because people love Yosemite weddings.

This chapel is used for church services, weddings, marriage vow renewals, baptisms and baby dedications. Standing on the steps of the chapel you can see Yosemite Falls and Half Dome. After your "I do's" you have many choices for other Yosemite activities during the rest of your visit.

Directly across from the chapel is a large meadow that allows for breath taking pictures. It's even common to see couples going around Yosemite Valley and up to Glacier Point to take pictures in their wedding clothes.

Services and ceremonies performed in the Yosemite Chapel must adhere to the doctrines of the Christian faith.

Sunday morning worship services are every Sunday at 9:15 am, 11 am, and 6:30 pm. Thursday's at 7 pm. Services are open to all people who visit, work or live in Yosemite National Park.

(209) 372-4831

Worship services are also held at the Lower Pines Campground, Wawona Campground, Whitewolf Campground and the Tuolumne Campground every Sunday morning at 9:00 am.

It was 20 years ago last June when I met my wife in Yosemite. I met her when I decided to enroll in a college field study trip backpacking in Yosemite....
