My Favorite Camping Breakfast Recipes

Hash-browns And Eggs

1 Bag of shredded hash-browns
6 Large eggs
1 Pound of cooked sausage or ham
1 Medium onion
1 Green bell pepper
2 Cups of shredded cheese
4 tablespoons of butter
Salt and pepper
Aluminum foil
Cooking oil

At home, put the hash-browns in a bowl. Beat the eggs and add them to the hash-browns. Chop up the onion and bell pepper. Add them to the hash-browns. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add the butter and salt and pepper. Add the shredded cheese.

Take a foiled aluminum bag and add a couple tablespoons of cooking oil. Put the hash-brown mixture in the foil aluminum bag. Keep it in an ice chest until you are ready to cook it at your campsite.

At the campsite, put the aluminum foil bag on a grill. Cook on a medium heat. Turn the bag every five minutes or so. The bag will puff up when the meal is ready. It's done in about 20-30 minutes.

Ziplock Omelets

Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (do not use more than 2 eggs) shake to combine the eggs. Next add whatever ingredients that you like in your omelet. Add things like: cheese, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc.

Take a permanent marker, and write the name of the person that the omelet will be for. Pack the bags of omelet in an ice chest. When you are ready to make the omelets, boil water in a large pot.

Place the bags of omelets into rolling, boiling water for 13-15 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. If you are making more, make another pot of boiling water.

Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed! Since the omelets are all done at the same time, everyone can eat together...nice! Definitely a favorite of the camping food recipes!

*Ziplock does not recommend boiling food in their bags.
