Columbia Tents And Other Popular Tents

Columbia tents and other popular tents are all represented on this page. We have something for everyone. Whether you need sleeping for one person or 10 people, we have a tent that will fit the bill.

The most popular brands today include Columbia, Wenzel, ez up, Greatland, REI, North Face and the ever popular self erecting tents. And others. If your backpacking or camping the following choices are sturdy, compact and some are even for the four seasons.

Before choosing your color and style let me share a few difference and great tips with you.

A Freestanding is great for rocky or hard ground surfaces. You may still consider using stakes.

No Freestanding is lightweight. Easy to set up in tight spaces. Requires stakes to stay put. Not the best choice for sand and snow terrain.

Pole Sleeves These are very stable if you have windy conditions.

Pole Clips These make setup fast. Superior air flow. You have a less stable tent using these.

All Mesh Body Increases the ventilation, very lightweight and great for stargazing when you are inside.

All Fabric Body Great for colder temperatures because it blocks the cold air and keeps body heat in.

Dark Color Absorbs the heat. Very good for winter camping. Blocks sunlight which makes it great for late sleepers.

Bright Colors Easy to spot in storms. Gives off a cheery ambiance.

Single Wall Lightweight. Easy to set up. Can get stuffy and damp if the weather is not cold and dry.

Double Wall Separate body and fly make it great for ventilation.

Urethane This is a waterproof coating. Less costly tent.

Silnylon Waterproof and ultralight. Harder to repair if there is a rip.

Carbon Fiber Poles Super light and strong. Expensive and delicate.

Aluminum Poles Less expensive. Durable. Easy to repair any rips.

Tip For Picking A Tent

Watch your floor space. Tall people need longer layouts. Heavier set people need more elbow room.

Consider the different shapes that are available. High roofed and rectangular designs offer more dry storage and a safe place to cook if you are experiencing wind and rain outdoors.
