Yosemite Is A Great Place For Bike Rides!
Try a new adventure and go on bike rides in yosemite! Rent a bike here or bring your own. We always bring our own since we don't live to far from Yosemite Ca. This is a favorite of all the yosemite activities that we do as a family. If you need to you rent a bike, you may do so at Yosemite Lodge or Yosemite Camp Curry Village. There is more than twelve miles of easy and fun paths in Yosemite Valley for bike rides! If you look at a yosemite map, you will see that you can loop around the valley floor on a nice paved bike trail.
Wear your helmet! If you fall your probably going to land on a rock! If you rent a bike to ride in Yosemite, helmets are provided. Yosemite has some rules. First, you must only ride on the paved bicycle paths. Second, they are prohibited on pedestrian and hiking trails. Third, you must obey all the posted traffic signs in the park if you are on a roadway that is shared with automobiles.
You can ride around your campsite, on the marked trails or over to the store! Kids won't even miss their game systems or the tv if you give them something to ride on here! Again, bike riding is a favorite of the kids Yosemite National Park activities. Plan on doing some bike riding when you are here. If your children are to little to ride on their own, this is the perfect place to tow them behind you in a trailer.
Mirror Lake is a great destination to ride. If you bring your own, you can ride all the way there! If you rent, there is a place to park your bicycle and walk the last little bit. Rented bikes do not have gears. The last part that gets you to Mirror Lake is a little to steep if you don't have gears!
Since you are in a natural forest, there are lots of pine needles. The pine needs are very slippery when they meet your bicycle tires! Don't stray off of the path and take a spill.
If you rent a bike here in Yosemite it is $9.50 an hour. Bikes with a child trailer on the back is $16.00 and hour.
