Are Guns Allowed in Yosemite?

Hello:
Thank you for such a great information source on Yosemite! My wife and I are planning a trip out west in an RV for the first time. I typically carry a handgun with me for personal protection in the RV. Do you know if Yosemite, and other National Parks for that matter allow guns. I have heard both yes and no. Thanks for any help.
See Kathy's Reply Below:Hi Elrich, Yes, Guns are allowed in Yosemite and other National Parks. However, you may not fire any gun inside a
US National Park. You must abide by the state, local and federal firearm laws that each national park is in.
Guns are not allowed in
visitor centers or rangers’ offices, because firearms are banned in federal buildings, but they could be carried into private lodges or concession stands, depending on state laws.
As of 2010 licensed gun owners are allowed bring firearms into national parks and wildlife refuges as long as they are allowed by state law.
Just keep you firearm in your RV in a safe case. I recommend the firearm cases at the
Strong Gun Cases website. They have done their research and came up with the best options for consumers.
Many people who enjoy Yosemite, other US National Parks, the outdoors, camping, hiking, traveling, fishing and hunting carry firearms. There is nothing wrong that, just be sure to keep it in a safe place.
It is also nice to tell you that
crime in the US National Parks is not high. For the amount of people that visit every year, crime is extremely low. Enjoy traveling in your RV and your visit to Yosemite!
