Staying In Cabins At Yosemite-Lodge In Yosemite National Park
The Yosemite-Lodge is a great place to stay! Wooden cabins are available with and without private baths. Within walking distance of the cabins is a cafeteria, a gift shop, an amplitheater, a card/reading room, a swimming pool, an ice cream shop, bike rentals, Mountain Room Restaurant and Lounge.
Located very near the base of Lower Yosemite Falls, you can easily walk to the lower falls from here. The Merced River runs along the edge of where the cabins are located. A great place to play in the water or lay on the sandy sandbanks. A casual walk through a meadow leads you to a bridge that gives you a picture perfect view of the waterfall with the river below.
This is such a popular place to stay. It is not as crowded as Curry-Village. You must make reservations to stay here at least 12 months in advance.
Here is an interesting fact: It was President Abraham Licoln who signed the Yosemite Grant in 1864 that allowed Yosemite to become a National Park. This was the beginning for the entire National Park System to be established.
Yosemite is a great place to bring a book to read! Since there is no television in the valley the evenings are a great time to read. Check out Amazon's latest best sellers and bring a book along on your vacation!
